Raccoons
- Everyone recognizes the Masked Bandit. Raccoons will gladly move into any structure that fits their needs. From barns and crawlspaces to attics and chimneys. Raccoons will snuggle into any place suitable for a day’s sleep or raising young. Insulation in attics or ceilings fits the need well. Chimneys resemble a hollow tree and many young raccoon pups are raised on top of a damper of an unused fireplace. Paw prints going in and out of a large hole, or up and down a downspout to a gutter will surely indicates a raccoon’s presence. Raccoons also use a latrine, which may be inside the attic, or on the valley of a roof. Being the number one carrier of the rabies virus, it’s always discouraged to feed or handle raccoons or other wildlife.
